Ari’s Brownies

Ari, my youngest witty, thoughtful and teacher of life. I know you get mad at me sometimes, ok a lot! But we always have these brownies! Doesn’t make everything ok but they help! Oh and spilling a family secret, I don’t just make them for you! I love them too! But they definitely taste best warm out of the oven with us debating the meaning of life. Maybe we do have it figured it out-could it be brownies?

3/8 oz flour

2 1/2 oz cocoa powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

10 1/4 oz sugar

1 stick (1/2 cup butter)

2 Eggs

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place butter and sugar in a mixing bowl if microwaving or saucepan if stovetop. Melt butter and sugar. Beat vigorously until light and creamy.

  2. Add cocoa powder and salt. Mix well and let it rest until room temperature.

  3. Add eggs and mix well. Add flour and mix until just incorporated, do not over mix to maintain a fudgy brownie. Pour into an 8*8 inch pan.

  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Hard to tell when they are done-we like them super fudgy, so I take them out when they are baked through on the edges and slightly gooey in the middle. Feel free to adjust baking time to taste.
